They were informed of this being an issue with players and ignored us.
Surely at the very least we should have tags/labels.
Think about it CCP if you had tags then you could make tagclouds. Isn't that the kind of cool "grow the social graph" stuff you're looking for?
You can't invite groups of people to events. There are no groups apart from standings/corp/alliance.
Pure Fail.

Hello? CCP?
I can't seem to find the DevBlog where you're explaining how so very sorry you are that the contact system was released half finished and how you're rushing to complete the label system?

Knock Knock, Hello? Anyone here?
I really would have expected this to be rushed out as a fix within 7 days of the first patch.
Why waiting so long for basic missing functionality that was forgotten at release even tho test forum was screaming about it?

Originally by: ImmaSplodeYou It looks more web 2.0 now but it's dire, please roll it back and dock the pay of everyone who worked on it and the guy who pitched it. In fact, fine him a large sum of money and use it to pay the other devs for the overtime they need to get the other issues sorted
Also preferably hang the guy who pitched the "improved" contacts list
Amazing isn't it.... It's like that department is run by someone that can talk bull**** really well. His fanfest video showed his ability to ignore the outside would and dictate his unique view.
How he managed to convince them to go in the complete wrong direction, and then managed to ignore everyone when they pointed at the glaring mistakes...... and is still employed..... That guys got it made!
Actually the funniest part is how when deciding on the 300 limit they did an SQL query to tell them, "How many players have over 300 contacts?" and found that "This will only effect 1% of players".
They then decided that 1% with over 300 contacts was inconsequential and those 1% wouldn't matter.
Did they not also read the 1% rule when they were looking into social networks? 1% are the content creators, the hubs, these people with their large contact were key.
Now with contacts mattering so little and no one needing very many of them, surely no one needs to categoise their contacts. It's almost ******ed thinking.

Originally by: Marak Mocam I think the removal was part of their UI cleanup stuff and they intend to put it back in but, either way, I agree -- this should be usable vs how it is now.
Nah it's just the team that worked on all that stuff think they are too cool for school.
Afterall they did an SQL query that showed only 1% of players have over 300 "contacts". So it was ok to kick them in the balls. They forgot that 1% are the hub people, the content creators.
So funny watching them try to push a social network website while breaking the very network of contacts people had already created.
